About The Event

IDI-UK will provide an introduction to intimacy concepts, principles and practices specifically designed for those performing stage combat. The workshop will equip Actor-Combatants to confidently deal with moments of intimacy within a violent scene setting particular to Fight Tests. Topics will include: consent, intimacy guidelines for performers, intimacy work on scenes, ways to perform intimate violence and more.

Please Note: this is not a certification workshop.

Instructor: Yarit Dor directs fights, movement and intimacy for performance. She is an Ensemble Associate Artist of the Shakespeare’s Globe, a certified stage combat teacher (BASSC) and Co-Founder of Intimacy Directors International UK.

Recent credits include: Death of A Salesman (Young Vic), Richard II ( Shakespeare's Globe starring Adjoa Andoh); Wild East (Young Vic); Hamlet (Shakespeare's Globe starring Michelle Terry); As You Like It (Shakespeare's Globe); Much Ado About Nothing (Shakespeare's Globe); The Crucible (The Yard); Rise and Fall of Little Voice (Park Theatre); Assata Taught Me (The Gate); Macbeth: Fire Burn (ImmerCity Theatre); Disgraced (English Theatre Frankfurt); Dark Tourism (Park Theatre).

Fee: BASSC Members £150

Non-BASSC Members £175

To attend the workshop students must have Certification in Unarmed Combat from a recognised stage combat organisation that is 3 years old or less.

Students who have a certification that is more than 3 years old must be able to provide evidence that they have maintained their skills and are confident to perform unarmed combat.
