Intermediate/Advanced Classes at the City Lit

Even Greater Stage Fights - (Intermediate/Advanced)

This is a course administrated by the City Literary Institute (www.citylit.ac.uk) for students who have already passed the beginners course, or its equivalent. The weekly class runs from September to February and is team-taught by BASSC certified teachers, and covers stage fighting techniques in more depth, with emphasis on the theatrical presentation of each system.

Students will cover one of the following weapons systems from the BASSC syllabus:

  • Rapier & Dagger;
  • Unarmed Combat;
  • Broadsword;
  • Smallsword;
  • Sword & Shield;
  • Quarterstaff;
  • Single Rapier;
  • Knife.

This years weapon was:

  • Advanced Knife

The course is practical with the students observing and then participating in the techniques and exercises, while being closely watched by qualified personnel. Students will have the opportunity to take the BASSC Fight Performance Test (FPT) in the weapon studied.

When?

Classes are on Friday evenings, from 7.30-9.30 pm.

How much?

Fees are currently £160 (£80 concessions) per course.
